Pics from the South-West Tour/ISC race Allstar Shootout 2009

The results aren't in yet from the Southwest Tour/ISC race that was held on April 25th. Here are a few pics from the event.



This was the schedule for the event:

FRIDAY April 24th Track work and limited practice will be available with INSANE SPEED RUN Practice scheduled for 12-5 pm.

Saturday April 25th
8am - 10am, Signups pre-tech and practice (OVAL)
10am - 12pm - insane TIMED practice
12:00 SHOOTOUT "Single Car" qualifying (approx 90 minutes as needed)
1:30 First round 'Support Class Heat Races'
2:00 SHOOTOUT Qualifying Heats 1-4
2:30 2nd round 'Support Class Heat Races'
3:00 SHOOTOUT LCQ(s)** May run on Sunday
3:30 Practice -
4:00 ISC "Insane Speed Runs"*

Sunday April 26th
8am - 10am - open practice
10:00 am - LCQ's (If not run on Saturday)
10:30 am - 3rd round 'Support Class Heat Races'
11:00 am - 1st 33 lap Segment ALLSTAR SHOOTOUT
11:15 am - Non-Qualifiers CONSI Main (5 minute)
11:30 am - 'Support Class MAIN events'
12:00 - 1:00 LUNCH Break / Open Practice
1:00 pm - FINAL 33 Segment ALLSTAR SHOOTOUT
Followed by Awards and Photos.

TRACK Will be available for practice after race
until 3:00 pm on Sunday if the schedule works

Video: BoostCrzy hits 111mph!





BoostCrzy is using a Castle Creations Mamba Max 7700kv brushless motor with 75 tooth spur/43 tooth pinion gearing. He also said this:

I also switched out the EZRUN ESC for a Mamba Max...added a Castle Creations BEC to keep the Gyro and high speed servo happy(and ready for the 4s1p battery)....testing went well...speeds averaged about 95mph pass after pass....very consistent....and control is noticeably better on start and braking...the ESC has a VERY smooth brake allowing for accurate modulation through the entire slowing event.....I added a small fan to the heat sink, as the car is now a sealed unit with the under-tray and airflow is minimal inside...
