The Ultimate Speed Run 2 happened November 13th in Fontana California.

Here is a conclusion of the events:

USR Wrap Up

Post ISC Admin on Sun Nov 13, 2011 9:28 pm
Just got home from the USR. I am tired, beaten and a little bit dirty but I had a great time. The turn out was better then we all expected and the weather was maybe the best ever.

I will compile all the runs and get them posted asap. Only two records fell large scale (116 mph) and Open wheel (103 mph) and a few new members were added to the 100 mph club (Brian, Tom, Nick and Tony) Congratulation guys!

Some current record holders seemed to struggle today but it didn't effect guys like Richard Tompkins who might have laid down the most impressive set of runs ever witnessed at an ISC event, out of his 9 runs I believe all but one (spur gear death) were between 111 mph and 117 mph an unbelievable feat out of a 2wd 2 cell full bodied car. Tom Kendall in his 2 cell car worked and worked all day trying to sort out its ill tempered need to go everywhere but straight and then in the his final try with the daylight fading dropped a run of 102 mph to earn his spot in the 100 mph club. Brain B gets the iron man award recording 14 runs in his IC big block dragster with a best of 101 mph. The hard charger award goes to two guys making their first appearance at a ISC race, Tony L in his very first run took the open wheel record with a run of 103 mph and not to be out done his partner Nick Steel destroyed the large scale record on his first pass with a run of 114 mph but that wasn't enough he made one more pass and bumped his own record to 116 mph. (the records page has been updated with these new speeds)

Thank you to everyone that came out to support the ISC in our yearly event only 364 days until we get to do it again.

ISC Ultimate Speed Run August 15,16 2010

The ISC has announced their Ultimate Speed Run for 2010. It will be held at Heartland Park in Topeka Kansas. Softpacks will be allowed:

Soft packs okay at Topeka only!!!!!!
Apparently the Topeka local practice is to run soft packs and our rules were based on what is run locally here. The hard case rule has been in effect for several months so this really shouldn't have been such a late surprise. Maybe we should have alerted y'all to that change better, maybe y'all should have read the rules closer. Whatever, we really want this race to happen so in the interest of racing unity we are withdrawing the requirement for hard cases for this meet only.

Because of the confusion caused by this issue we must bump the signup deadline to July 8th. That gives you two weeks to get signed up. The ball is in your court. At this point in time there is only one entry from anywhere east of the Rockies.

Looking forward to running at Heartland…..I'm signed up, my plane tickets are bought and my room is reserved.

Nic Case's 2009 USR car

From the ISC:

I've only stated working this Oct 3rd. (Just short of one year from Oct 4th 2008 -Rockingham)

Just got it together last night. I'll be trying a 6s stradegy. I've only got 2 test runs in, the fastest at 155. That was done with lowest gearing that I have --- with those Great RW gears (so quiet)! Even the motor is a little smaller - it's a NEU 1512 1.5D 3300kv - this baby's got some kick!Castle has a new speedo - HV-140 that should be good. BSR made the tires - Love-em. CD Adapco helped with some aero stuff. Same, Stout Schumacher Mi-3. The Power Edge Batteries are Very Strong. I also switched fro the 3PJ to the New Futaba 4PK -- the adjustments are awesome! And it still has 1400" of range! The servo is a digital Futaba - wow is it strong. I have a 12s set-up ready to go (if needed) ;-)

cheers
N
